Best in the Desert, often abbreviated as BITD, is a sanctioning body for off-road racing in the United States. BITD was formed in 1984. The organization sanctions over 100 off-road races each year, including the prestigious Mint 400 and the Baja 500. BITD races are held in a variety of desert environments, including the Mojave Desert, the Sonoran Desert, and the Great Basin Desert.
BITD races are open to a variety of off-road vehicles, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, and ATVs. The races are typically held on long, challenging courses that test the limits of the vehicles and their drivers. BITD races are known for their high speeds and spectacular crashes.
