“Save the Best for Last” is a song written by Randy Goodrum and first recorded by the American singer Joe “Bean” Esposito in 1981. It was later covered by Vanessa Williams in 1989, and her version became a number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song is a ballad about a man who is in love with a woman but knows that she is not yet ready for a serious relationship. He tells her that he is willing to wait for her, and that he will “save the best for last.”
